Abstract

In the current paper, Dictyota bartayresianais account for the earliest time, a novel record for the Indian macroalgal flora. A present species of Dictyota, previously recognized as D. bartayresiana, is   illustrated from southeast coast region of India. Morphological observation and phylogenetic analysis, as well to molecular sequence data of specimens collected from Mandabam and species were evaluated and facilitated us to authenticate that D. bartayresiana. There were 38 species of Dictyota species used for the comparison.
